The Tri-Cities Group Sit is held at Douglas College in Coquitlam. Schedule and Location information may change as the school may require us to update arrangements in different school years. Please read the following to get started and reach out to the Contacts for new information if need to.

One-Day Courses And Special Events

One-Day Courses happen on every 2nd and 4th Saturdays with Children/Teen Courses and Community Building Events in between.

8:30-9:00 a.m Arrive / Setup / Walk-in Registration
9:00-9:50 a.m. Course Opening – Anapana Instructions
9:50-10:00 a.m. Break
10:00-11:00 a.m. Group Sitting
11:00-11:10 a.m. Break
11:10-12:00 p.m. Vipassana Instructions
12:00-1:00 p.m. Lunch Break & Interviews with Assistant Teacher (if present)
1:00-2:20 p.m. Meditation
2:20-2:30 p.m. Break
2:30-3:30 p.m. Group Sitting
3:30-3:40 p.m. Break
3:40-4:15 p.m. Meditation, Metta and Discourse
4:15-4:30 p.m. Clean Up


  • Anyone who has completed at least one 10-Day Vipassana course as taught by S.N. Goenka.
  • Registration is not required unless specified. Just show up. 
  • Bring your own cushions or blankets if you require them. A square blue floor mat will be provided. There are also upright chairs available at the facility.
  • Bring a vegetarian lunch if you are attending a one-day course. 
  • The college is easily accessible by SkyTrain (across from Millennium Line / Lafarge Lake-Douglas Station). Street parking is available and free after 6 PM (small fee during the day). Or you can park at Town Center Park across the street for free anytime and walk over. On David Lam campus, enter building C/D. On the second floor, at the top of the stairs, turn to your left. At the end of the hall you will find Room D2009.
